This week we went through four days of Oliver not napping. I would put him down for his nap and he would walk around his crib, talk to his stuffed animals and simply just have a grand old time. I would leave him up there for awhile (an hour or so) and then he figured out that by yelling "Mommy" it would get my attention. So I would go get him.
Today he napped for over two and a half hours. Nothing was different about today. In fact, we barely did anything active this morning. i don't quite get it. Moms, help me out here please. He is going to be three in September and seems a little young to totally give up his nap.
I found myself being really frustrated with this. Ever since I have entered this stage of having kids, afternoons naps have happened and have been sacred. I really need to start getting my head around the idea that we could be done.
I am going to still do quiet times in his crib. He needs that and I need that. :)
I can't believe that he doesn't try to climb out of his crib....thank you Lord that he is still contained in that thing.

um, i can't even comprehend him contently playing for an hour and a half without climbing out and playing with something totally dangerous!! sage has been climbing out since she was 16 months old!!
ReplyDelete3 seems too young to me, but i do know that every kid is different.
that must be so frustrating though, i really don't even want to think about life with no afternoon nap.
